Not all races provide a cap. Bring a bright color.

Warranty voiding(?) wetsuite lube.
If your goggles are going to break, it's going to happen at a race. It is also good to have clear and dark lenses.

USAT regulations require all handlebar and aerobar ends to be plugged. Since these can easily fall out, pack some extras. Why are these plugs required? If you crash, an unplugged bar-end might core-sample your body.

Superflate/UltraFlate/Microflate/etc

Sprint or olympic distance race? Leave the gloves at home.

Tape gel to your bike frame
Pump the tires the night before the race. A mini/frame pump is only for flats during a race.

You might lose your spot on the rack if you head out for a warm-up spin. You can warm-up your legs with a bike trainer and guard you spot.

Some races run out of rack space
Only carry what you need to change a tire in your bike bag. The extra tools are for pre-race emergencies
